INTRODUCTION
This year our IES is one hundred years old (1908-2008). We are very happy about it. Our school has changed a lot throughout the century and education as well. The English Department wanted to join this celebration choosing as the topic of the Orator project the centenary. The idea was to do a trip along the century. And we really did it!
If we are given the grant, Huddersfield is going to be our destination, where we hope to widen our knowledge and probably see other different ways to understand education. This blog will be a witness of what we did and what we will do once there. We invite you to share our experiences here and there. Follow us!

Today we met only Richard and Kami at the bus station to go to the sikh centre. There each of us wrote a letter to thank Mar and Noemi for the trip to England and we read it to them. After lunch we went to the swimming pool to spend the afternoon and relax. We enjoyed very much this day.
The teachers congratulated some students because they had a very good behavior during the stay in England: Francesc, Èrika, Eugenia and Josep.

LONDON, 25th and 26th June
On Wednesday we caught the bus to London. The trip was long, it took 6 hours, but we had a stop to relax and have lunch. When we arrived in London we went to the Science Museum where we could play with a lot of good and interesting games about science and then we visited the plasticity museum, it was so funny. After that we went to The Pizza Hut and we had dinner. The food was really good and we enjoyed it a lot. Later, we went for a walk through London and we visited the London eye. We liked it because there were a lot of lights and it was very nice. At night we went to the Youth Hostel not to sleep but at one the fire alarm rang and all the 800 people in the building had to go out to the street.
On Thursday we started the day having a horrible breakfast in the hostel. Then we caught the bus again to visit some of beautiful places in London. We visited the Tower bridge, the houses of Parlament, the Buckingham Palace. Then we had lunch at Hyde park and returned to Huddersfield. When we arrived in Huddersfield we went to an Indian Restaurant for the farewell dinner. The food was very spicy. At the end of the day all of us were very tired and our families come to pick ¡us up to our houses. Our first trip to London has been a good experience because it’s a very nice place.

24th June SAINT JOHN!
Dear diary,
Today it has been a great day. I enjoyed it a lot because I had some new friends from Holmfirth High School. There we played the drama we prepared the previous day. In the afternoon we played rounders and went to the computers room. The P.E. class was the best of the day.

23rd June
Dear diary,
We woke up at 7:45. Then we went downstairs, we had breakfast (milk with cornflakes).
At 8:30 we caught the bus to the town centre. We met all the students and then we went to the Sikh centre, and we did drama because tomorrow we are going to another school to perform it. One group got prizes because they did the best work in York.
In the afternoon we went to a museum, we did some activities that people did one hundred of years ago. Despite we thought it could be boring, it was quite good and funny. And finally we got on the bus to go home, we had dinner and went to the bed.
It was a great day.

SUNDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sunday is the day to spend with our families, so each one has lived a different experience: swimming, going shopping, going to the park, going to church, having a typical English breakfast, visiting an art gallery, playing with the play station, watching the football match, going to see a rugby match, eating hot dogs and pies, going bowling, going to an hospice where people were celebrating a party for charity, walking along the narrow cannal, having a big dinner after non having had lunch, gooing to the moors, visiting the Red House, going to the Coal Mining Museum, going to the coast town Blackpool (theme park), eating fish and chips, visiting their teachers, visiting castles, going to an Indian wedding, visiting a farm...; some of them were happy not to see the teachers that day, others stayed at home... They also took the chance to interview their families about education in the past in England and today.
We also had a good day although it was really windy; we had a drink in a pub, we walked and ran home and finally met some students and their families for dinner.

21st June
Dear diary,
Today we met at the bus station and we walked for a while to catch the train to Leeds. Leeds is very beautiful but we couldn't see it well because it rained. We saw the birds show and I think it was very good; it took near the Armourish museum. The museum can be very interesting for people who like guns, wars, knights,... On that day we had problems because four students went to a Mcdonalds instead of visiting the museum without permission. Other two students were rude to the teachers. Richard said that bowling was cancelled and we had to come back home. I think that he could have let some of us go to the bowling. However his decision can be good for us because we learnt a lesson.
